Equipment Operator

Role Overview:

Operates a variety of heavy machinery to support construction and site development projects. The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other machinery, depending on the project needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operates heavy equipment including (but not limited to): excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, and graders
  • Performs daily inspections and routine maintenance of equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Loads and unloads materials and transports them around job sites
  • Ensures safe operation by following company and OSHA safety protocols
  • Reports any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately to supervisors
  • Assists with general labor duties when equipment operation is not required
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area and assist with site cleanup as needed


Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or industrial setting
  • Valid equipment operator certifications and/or CDL license may be required depending on equipment used.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture, and wind.
  • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
  • Must be able to lift between 50-100 pounds.

Other:

  • Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. All candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screen, and obtain base access.  Must have a valid driver's license.
