Role Overview:

Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential and commercial settings. Ensures work complies with relevant codes and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures according to blueprints and technical diagrams.

• Set up electrical systems for new construction including panels, switches, and grounding systems.

• Perform excavation and install underground conduit systems, to include man holes, pull boxes, cabling, etc.

• Inspect electrical systems, components, and wiring for hazards, defects, or compliance with codes.

• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning electrical equipment or systems.

• Replace outdated or faulty electrical components to meet current standards or client requirements.

• Upgrade systems to support new appliances, increased power loads, or energy-efficient technologies.

• Adhere to all electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols.

• Ensure proper grounding and electrical safety measures are in place.

• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and installations.

• Prepare reports and update blueprints or technical diagrams as necessary.


Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license preferred.

• Prior industrial electrical experience preferred. 

• Prior work experience on a military base is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.

• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues efficiently.

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.

• Attention to detail and commitment to safety.


Working Conditions: 

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture, and wind.

• Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.

• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
